Welcome to the Land Development Division of Public Works

We support the Land Development process that is typically initiated when a customer applies for either a Planning or Building permit.  As part of that process, Public Works will review the proposed project and set appropriate Conditions of Approval that must be implemented through one or more of the following reviews:

•   Street Improvements – per the requirements of Campbell Municipal Code 11.24, property owners are responsible for the improvement of their street frontage.  These improvements can include installing or upgrading one or more of the following:

  •   Accessible compliant driveways and curb ramps
  •   Curb, gutter, sidewalk, street trees
  •   Pavement reconstruction
  •   Street lights
  •   Park strip and median island landscaping
  •   Street widening
  •   Project specific traffic mitigations

•   Mapping – any proposal to subdivide property or modify existing property lines is subject to the requirements of the Subdivision Map Act, the Campbell Municipal Code, and any other applicable regulations:

  •   Subdivision (Tract) Maps
  •   Parcel Maps
  •   Lot Line Adjustments
  •   Lot Mergers
  •   Certificates of Compliance
  •   Street Dedications
  •   Street / Easement Vacations (Abandonments)

•   Grading / Stormwater Treatment – In order to ensure proper drainage and to protect water quality, Public Works staff reviews Grading and Drainage plans and Stormwater Treatment Plans. Please note that the Building Division will review any Grading plans associated with an existing single family home.
