Campbell City Council Places Local Funding/Community Services Measure On 2024 Ballot

Campbell, CA – After receiving feedback from over 600 residents in a spring community survey, the Campbell City Council unanimously voted to place a Campbell Local Funding/Community Services Measure on the November 2024 ballot at its August 8th City Council meeting.

A Campbell community survey conducted by FM3 Research in May demonstrated robust community interest in a local ½ cent use (sales) tax measure to maintain and improve quality of life and public safety services, such as neighborhood police patrols, fire prevention and emergency medical response services, crime suppression/investigation, pothole and street repair, parks, sports, and recreation centers.

Sixty percent of respondents indicated they would support such a measure, which only requires a simple majority to pass.

“The City needs reliable sources of funding to help Campbell remain a beautiful, and vibrant place to live, work and raise a family,” said City Manager Brian Loventhal. “The City’s priority is keeping Campbell a safe place to run a business and raise a family.”

“We are a family-friendly community,” added City Manager Loventhal. “In today’s digital age, it is more important than ever to give Campbell youth opportunities for sports and recreation We’re all committed to keeping kids active and learning, especially after school and in the summertime. This is just one of many priorities that the City seeks to improve and maintain for our residents.”

If authorized by voters, all funds raised by the Measure are to be spent in Campbell for local services and cannot be used by the State. For more information about the Measure, visit www.campbellca.gov
