Campbell, CA – The Campbell Police Department remains committed to holding criminals accountable and ensuring the safety of our community. Following the initial arrest of Briley Bodemar for vandalizing the Campbell water tower, additional evidence linked him to graffiti vandalism throughout the county. As the investigation progressed, Campbell officers and detectives uncovered further criminal activity, resulting in additional arrests and the discovery of controlled substances and an illegal firearm.

On Tuesday, January 21, at approximately 10:44 AM, Campbell officers responded to a vehicle collision on S. Bascom Avenue. The vehicle had crashed into a curb, fence, and tree. Briley Bodemar, who had been released on the Supervised Own Recognizance Program (SORP) by the courts after his initial arrest, was a passenger in the vehicle.

Given his SORP status, officers conducted a search of Bodemar and the vehicle. They discovered controlled substance in his possession, along with additional drugs and equipment for drug sales inside the car. As a result, Bodemar was arrested for possessing and transporting drugs with the intent to sell. He was booked into jail and posted bail the next day on January 22.

Campbell detectives obtained a search warrant for Bodemar’s residence in San Jose. On Wednesday, January 29, at approximately 9:00 AM, Campbell officers and detectives executed the warrant, discovering a loaded, unregistered handgun, controlled substances, a large quantity of marijuana, and equipment used for various stages of drug processing and sales.

Bodemar was arrested for a third time in the month of January on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including possessing a controlled substance while armed, illegal possession of a firearm, and operating a location for drug sales. He was booked into jail and posted bail the following day.

“The Campbell Police Department remains steadfast in our mission to protect and serve our community,” stated Chief Gary Berg. “This case highlights the relentless efforts of our officers and detectives, who go above and beyond to ensure criminals do not continue their illegal activities in Campbell.”
